Too Long and Far Between

Hi. My name is Cat, and I suck at posting.

So I'm going to take my sleep deprived energy and cram it into this post.

What has happened. My reading week happened! It's funny, though, because when I got back to Sackville, people kept asking me, "How was your break?"

It really wasn't a break.

I researched schools, started job hunting for the summer, studied for a midterm and did a lot of work. That part wasn't much fun.

What WAS fun was that Chris came home for the week since it was HIS reading week (from his one class). So we hung out and stuff. Went to see some AWESOME plays at UNB and STU that included some of our AWESOME friends (they were in Hearts Desire and The Real Inspector Hound, two fantastically quirky and funny one acts plays) and a very moving show (The Perfect Pie, a Canadian play. I was heartbroken at the end). We also spent a night making cupcakes in ice cream cones and watching movies. Turns out the version of "Princess Mononoke" that I had was only in Japanese with no English subs, so we watched "Kiki's Delivery Service" instead. Love me some Studio Ghibli! I also got to make a quick trip to Saint John to look for costumes for Reefer Madness, and it was SUPER successful. TONS of stuff! Yay!

On our last night in town, Chris' father got us tickets to see a gypsy-jazz group from Quebec called "The Lost Fingers." These guys play gypsy-jazz covers of songs from the 80s and were SO good! Listen to their cover of "Pump Up The Jam" here. SO GOOD. Then after that we crashed the cast party for the one-acts plays, and it was SO good to see friends again! It was basically a get together for the people I worked with this past summer with other people invited. SO much fun, even for the short while I was there.

Once I got back, it was straight into crazy season. Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning, Juliet) rehearsals got into full swing, and costumes and exec stuff for Reefer Madness got... crazy. It was one thing after another, trying to fit everything that I needed to do into the time that I had between sleeping, eating, and work. In fact, I'm still not off book for Desdemona, but that will happen soon. The craziest thing, though, was putting together the fundraiser for Black Tie. This fundraiser would try and get us the money that we DESPERATELY need to put on our show.

We didn't get as many people as we would like.

That being said, we DID get a good turn out, and the people who came seemed to have a lot of fun. I've uploaded all the acts (most of the acts) to my Youtube Account, so you can watch those awesome acts here! You will NOT be disappointed! I still need to upload a few more, but those should be up soon.

Now I'm getting tired. I pulled an all-nighter writing a second draft of my one-act play for my Playwriting class and got about an hour and a half of sleep before class, so I'm kinda wired right now. Breakfast was brutal, though, because the football players were being ridiculously loud and obnoxious, putting me even more on edge. THEN I almost slipped on a grape. SO SCARY.

So that's it for now. Tonight is the launch party for the DSS (Drama Studies Society) and I am EXCITED!!! I think I'll sleep in celebration!!!

Pretty sure this is the fattest cat in Fredericton. I LOVE IT.

Performed a Flash Mob for the Frosh Open House. DOUBLE DREAM HANDS!

This is the poster for Reefer Madness. I MADE IT! :)
